Pond Plants
Some pond plants grow in deep water, such as lotus and water lilies while other plants grow in shallower waters. The depth and temperature of the pond determines what plants will most likely grow well. Some are rooted, while others can simply float on the surface. Others survive completely underwater while some prefer the boggy shores of the pond.
Pond plants are essential to the health of the pond. They do everything from oxygenating the water which helps fish and other aquatic life survive, to filtering and cleaning the water making it clear. Others simply look beautiful.
Of all pond plants, water lilies are the most popular. They can bloom profusely when fertilizers are added, just be sure that they are natural and safe for fish if there are any in the pond and they come in many different colors and varieties. They can survive in tropical climates while others are hardy enough to survive much further north.
