Garden Ponds

Garden ponds make a great addition to any garden and can actually increase the amount of fruits and veggies that the garden produces. This is because the water in the pond evaporates just enough, especially on hot days, to make the surrounding air very humid which is beneficial to almost every garden plant.

Plants have to be watered less often with garden ponds in the area, and they can also be used to support fish and other aquatic life. There are thousands of creatures that will be lured to a pond, especially one with a garden surrounding it. Bees and birds will frequent the area pollinating plants and controlling pests.

Garden ponds can be put into most gardens with the addition of a pond liner. The soil in the garden should have good drainage for the plants and be loose which is not good for a pond which holds best in clay filled soils. If the water doesn’t drain in the soil its probably not good for a garden anyway, but could make an excellent pond.
